Attard Agencies began just over 30 years ago in Hobart, Tasmania, where the state-of-the-art warehouse and distribution centre remains to this day. The company engages on an import, wholesale, and retail level to provide over 3000 products to industries such as the fibreglass, paint/ coating, accessory, and automotive industries.

The Attard Group took the opportunity to expand when it purchased a paint store located in Devonport, called Painted Parts.

Beginning as an online business, Derwent Traders is a locally targeted pest control retailer that provides wholesale products through groups such as Home Timber & Hardware, Mitre 10, Master’s and Nutrien.

After purchasing the site, Enhanced Hair & Beauty started with its hairdressing businesses running out of its location in Lindisfarne to a thriving six-station salon with a growing team of 8+ staff. Following the success of the first store, a second store South Terrace Hair & Beauty was purchased in 2021 located in the Centrepoint Shopping Centre, Hobart.

Three years on from purchasing Painted Parts, a second store, Paint & Parts was established in Burnie, Tasmania. This was then followed by a further expansion across state boundaries when Edward Attard purchased Darby’s Paints, located in Victoria. Darby’s Paints has stores located in Geelong, Shepparton, and Ballarat.

The Group continued to grow through the acquisitions of two new businesses in Victoria in 2022 those being Martini Fibreglass & Mildura Crash Repairs. Mildura Crash Repairs was subsequently rebranded to Darby’s Paints – Mildura. To manage all these companies, the Attard Group aggregate was subsequently established.

Attard Agencies Victoria (AAV) t/as Darbys Paints have had their relationship with BASF terminated with 30 days’ notice. This became effective from the end of March 2024. Our team have worked tirelessly, and as a result we have now partnered with two of Australia’s biggest paint suppliers being AkzoNobel and PPG. Our strategic positioning is all about giving our customers a variety of options with leading brands in the market to best meet their needs. We are looking forward to exciting times ahead with our new direction.
